While I will usually choose applied, there’s something really special about vintage inspired printed markers. I’ve been digging the simplicity and toolish vibe of a good printed dial

I'ma throw this style into the mix.😎
These numerals are carved from the dial. Or. Everything that isn't numbers is carved away.
The numerals are sculpted.
The dial is given texture by a very rare technique called "tremblage". The master engraver can spend up to 80 hours on a dial like this.
It's unattainable. So I suppose this qualifies as my Grail watch.😉👑
Sandwich dial could have been option 4, I love those
Engraved is #1. Enamel painted is #2. Applied is #3. Printed is last.

Moritz Grossman tremblage engraved dial. I think each piece is made to order.
If you do a Google Lens search the Moritz Grossman is pretty much the only watchmaker to offer this.
I'm in love with that watch.👑🌹

Doesn’t sound like a $500 watch.
Getting it onto my wrist in Canada would be forty thousand at least.
Hence my unattainable. My Grail.
If my son becomes a tech mogul and offered a special gift. This would be it.
I don't buy lottery tickets. So that's out.😎😅
Applied or Recessed.
As a person with over 40 watches, I need to admit that I still don't know what is the difference between the two🤣
