I always threw my old Watch (ediface) completly in my ultrasonic cleaning and Never had a Problem with that

But now i have my first automatic Watch and i‘m not sure if thats going to be a problem with a mechanical Watch

It's ok, as long as you disassemble it first, then put it back together afterwards 😁👍🏻

·

Yeah don't do that.

·

Do not do that with a mechanical watch. Chronoglides Youtube channel has a video about what part of a watch you can clean with ultrasonic cleaner.

·

As far as I know, the vabratuions can cause the plastic sealing to not be as secure and water could get in. I personally only put bracelets into the ultrasonic and wash watertight watches with a little running water and a veeeery soft toothbrush.

·

If it has Water Resistance, and not Vintage/Heirloom… good ol Soap and Water is all you need (maybe a non abrasive brush).

·

Washing up liquid (dishes) and a jewellery brush my friend! Amazon sell cheap sets.

I can understand ultrasonic cleaning on a bracelet, but what exactly do you do to your watches that the head of the watch that it requires ultrasonic cleaning? There’s just not that many places for grime to hide.

I might disagree with that 🙂 :

The thing is that i do car wrapping for EMS Cars like ambulances etc. and sometimes, like this week i have to take wraps back off. And the glue unter the wraps get really gooey and disgusting after appyling chemicals and it gets all over my arm, and my beloved Watch. Hence i want to clean it as good as i can

Yup bad idea to put an automatic movement in the ultrasonic cleaner.

·

My ultrasonic cleaner came with a warning saying not to clean mechanical watches with it due to magnetism.

Thanks Ryan

Do not!
