F1 Ferrari Richard Mille

Couldn’t help but notice this weekend at the Australian F1 GP both Ferrari drivers pushed their sleeves back to expose show off their Richard Mille watches. Carlos Sainz pictured

I think it was Jackie Stewart who had his left sleeves deliberately tailored shorter so he could better promote his watch sponsor (Rolex).

·

Let's hope they don't get mugged like Lando did

·

But what do they wear when the camera's are off?

What ever they want I would say money is no object

I saw Lando and Zak Brown were wearing theirs as well, didn't see Fred Vasseur though but I'm sure he was too

Martin Brundle wears one too.

The Alpine boys were wearing lovely Moser Streamliner Flyback Chronographs:

And Danny Rics black Tudor Black Bay Ceramic with an RB flavoured dial.

I'm tipping there'll be another RB sponsored chronograph this year to celebrate this relationship too.

Nice spot! We have an article that covers a lot of the drivers watches if anyones interested 🙂 https://oracleoftime.com/best-watches-f1-2024/

Exactly. It takes a special kind of watch to cost $100'000+ but you not only have to give them away you also have to pay people to wear them......

·

Yeah but they can’t wear them during the race anymore due to a stupid rule. They used to and it never caused any problems. Then again Lewis Hamilton’s jewelry never caused any problems until Sulayem came along. They need to fire that idiot, running F1 into the ground. 🤨

·

I think they should be wearing actual racing watches instead of a glorified fashion brand, but that's just me.

·

It's got to be purely for the advertising this hasn't it, there is no way those watches are on wrist whilst they are driving?

Not wearing a watch during the race is a good idea. In 1977 I was lucky enough to be able to hold the 3rd place trophy that was then handed to Nikki Lauda in the Brazilian GP (long story). I was 14 then, and I remember to this day the circular burn scar from the watch that was on his wrist on that terrible day the Nordschleife the year before. I don’t know which watch he was wearing. Heuer was a Ferrari sponsor, but Lauda used to wear Rolex as well.

Nowadays, jewelry is almost a non-issue given how safe the modern cars are. Then again, there was Grosjean in the Haas.
