USSF Official Watch

Just saw that the US Space Force has endorsed an official watch for the corps. The Micromilspec USSF Watch. Here’s an article from GQ with more info.

What are the thoughts on this watch? To me it seems to carry out the recent resurgence of the integrated bracelet look. It looks fine, but doesn’t really interest me. The dial decoration is a little cluttered with the cosmic / black whole swirls and the applied stars.

There are also 2 versions: the black one is reserved for USSF service members and the standard steel one is available to any non military member. Question is - how do they enforce that the purchaser is a USSF member? The checkout form seems to simply require you to declare that you are a service member. Is there any check they perform on this?

Thoughts?

Just checked their website,I find it strange you can have the back engraved also 100m water resistance,it does look good

Cookie cutter commercialism/ jumping on the bandwagon at it's fine.

Totally naff.

Want one

All fluff and marketing hype. All the listed sites that they offer for reviews have sponsored "advertorials".

Meh to the Max

I do love me an interesting gimmick though

Mmmm, I'm not entirely sure this is legit, at least in the sense that the USSF has "endorsed" it. I could find nothing official from the USSF on their website regarding this. The only other pieces I could find are the aforementioned GQ article and a couple of other articles regurgitating the same story. Frankly, I find it hard to believe this would pass official US procurement policy. This company's website seems to indicate that any member of a military unit can initiate a design project. So I'm guessing someone within USSF started the project that created it, but it's not "official" in the way the articles are using the word, which I would find very misleading as a potential buyer.
