The second crown does turn easily, But it is tucked away and is reasonably safe. I've had no trouble with mine moving.

I too love the black series of watches. I wear my alpinest all the time. The black coating seems to be holding up well so far.

This watch looks great on a metal bracelet. I own the black version which come on a canvas type strap.
