It’s time to mod again!

Well I was browsing a rather large oriental shopping site for some new hands for my Orient Mako xl. I have, in the last year, upgraded the crystal to a single domed sapphire as per the picture and I wanted to perk up the dial/ hands with a splash of colour. Whilst looking I came across this set of hands which were in a silver metal like the original hands, but they had a lovely splash of red on them plus a red second hand and of course my eyes lit up!
I then got really excited when I saw the price less than £3.00 inc tax with free shipping well I had to have them😂
The hands arrived after 8 days shipping from the other side of the world to me about a week ago, so today came and I had some free time, but more importantly I was in the right frame of mind to be messing around with tiny watch parts because you need patience, lots of it when setting hands……
As you may know setting the hands is one of the fiddliest jobs you can do with watches so deep breath some strong coffee and off I go 👍🏻
I have to say one of the easiest sets of hands I have fitted they practically jumped on to the spindles, fantastic luck there 👌🏻
There you go hands fitted and I have to say I think they really suit the overall look of the watch and have definitely breathed new life into my old faithful diver,
To finish off I’ve popped a mesh bracelet on it which really suits the watch

Yeah I considered that but I felt that the original second hand was a bit underwhelming and with my eyesight it wouldn’t have stood out enough
