Vulcain Nautique

What a beauty!😍 In the sun the dial goes from matte black to sunburst grey. The colour shift reminds me of a recently released longines legend diver dial.

I think it is a really underrated feature the ability of a watch to look in different ways in different lights. Makes you feel like you keep discovering sides of your watch you still don’t know.

You got to love what Vulcain has done, love this new twist.

Very nice.

·

Good strap/watch pairing dude.

·

So many watches. Not enough funds to get them all.

Months ago I checked the Vulcain website to look up the Crickets and these dive watches immediately caught my eye.

Congrats on your new acquisition.

·

I like it well paired,

Congrats… enjoy!💯

Yeah some of the crickets are really tempting…

Hi Andre, really interested in this watch but very little out there in terms of reviews, especially long-term reviews? Any issues or concerns to report? I trust the ETA movement but particularly interested in things like crown-action, fit and finish, your purchase experience etc. Many thanks!

Hi Dixon!

Pros:

-The case finish on my nautique is fantastic, can’t fault anything. It comes across significantly more high end than any Seiko re interpretation model.

-The fit on my 7inch wrist I think it’s spot on. It is on the smaller side but the lugs are beefy and make it wear just perfect. The lugs and the lugs finish is one of my favourite things of this watch

-Something that I didn’t know before purchasing it was the lume hour markers application. Yes they are printed but they are really thick (don’t know how to explain it, like a bit like the pelagos even if much smaller). This means that the lume is top quality. (If you want I can try and upload a pic to make you understand)

Cons

-there is no anti reflective coating. At first it was a bit of a shock seeing my face reflected in the crystal but tbh after wearing it for a bit you get used to it pretty quickly. And I suppose that it is also the full vintage experience

-I waited 6 weeks for mine to get back in stock. Not sure if now they have more units available.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, lots of details I was unaware of. That short L2L (and the skinny bezel) really solidifies the vintage look and feel - more I think than any other current diver on the market that I'm aware of. The lume sounds like multiple applications and a real bonus. The total lack of AR is also news and not ideal (I appreciate an internal AR) but doesn't sound like a deal breaker as I have this on a few models and just takes some getting used to... I'm pretty close to sold, I'll let you know if I take the plunge. Cheers!

Beside usual dimensions, what makes the skindiver really great for me is the thickness! It is only 12.2 thick but feels even slimmer than a BB58....which really makes it a great "skindiver" in my opinion
