London watch

Okay, with all the thieving scum in London and other major cities, there are certain watches that people do not wear when there, me included. I wear either a G-Shock, a Hamilton Khaki Field or a Seiko 5 when in London, but what about other crunchers, do you have a ‘city’ watch just to be safe, and if so, what is it?

I generally feel ok as I don't think I look like someone who wears an expensive watch. And I don't frequent the areas where these things happen as much. But I leave the Rolex at home.

There is no issues with watch theft that I heard of in NYC. I usually wear whatever.

I wore my city watch today while taking my wife shoe shopping. It just felt safer here in California to wear something discreet...

I wear whatever watch I feel like on that given day and never had an issue. Ignore Paul Thorpe if he did not talk about theft no one would care about anything he has to say.

I'm in London a lot, and I tend to just wear what I want. I don't have a Rolex, though. 😂

On the rare occasion I go into the office I work in Camden, one of the more dodgy areas of the capital. Previously I worked in Soho, also dodgy. I've always worn whatever I fancied. The only time I don't is when it's dark and busy and you've got no control over your surroundings. But I follow that rule anywhere.

I wear my pulsar military issue took my GS off today to take my partner out in Manchester City centre, not from the fear of being stolen but scratches if I have to smack someone 😂👊

No issues, I live in an open carry state. Plus my Black Bay and Speedies are really eye grabbing attention unlike some of my cheaper watches

No Rolex = much less of a target!

No issues. I wear all my watches in major US cities. I've been in NYC, LA, Chicago and San Francisco recently and I don't avoid wearing certain ones.

·

Going to London in march, need to think this through.

·

I live in a forest. I also carry a 45 when I visit those shit hole cities (Seattle Wa). Wear it and you want it say hello to my little friend. We don't bother with big cities anymore. It's sad. Have money to spend but not there.

A 45 says enough to deter any thief!!

·

My Serica field watch, means a lot to me but looks plain and boring!

Just had a colleague from London spend a day in my office. I was almost tempted to start a discussion about the situation in London with her. (But I didn't, there are more fun things to talk about.)

This morning I saw in a team chat that her flat was broken into and her watches were stolen while she was in the US.
