The Neptune is my favorite but the Pluto is lovely as well. And trading more reasonably than the Neptune which is at $1500+, which is pretty crazy for what it is lmao

My list isn’t very long and tends to change all the time. At the moment I’m actively saving up to buy myself a Speedmaster Professional. I am also constantly looking to find a good condition Omega Equinoxe and a Seiko G757 Sports 100.

Can’t go wrong with a speedy. Personally the original - for some reason - isn’t to my taste. I’d probably love it on the wrist but it doesn’t speak to me the way a watch ought to. But I do love the Apollo 8. Cheers to your speedy 🍺

  • An unspecified zelos diver or the Aurora field if that is released again.

  • A G-shock square of some kind. I want to hold out for a 5600 with the awesome MIPS display that isn't a smart watch.

  • A used Seiko SKX 007. Don't quite like the SRPD line as much.

  • Mr. Jones Colour Venn because I'm weird and lt reminds me of watching Art Attack as a kid.

  • A Tudor BB58 would be nice too but I can't spend that cash right now. Much later on goal.

You win for Zelos diver. Those dials and those bracelets are really impressive. I think those guys are doing great things along with Baltic and of course Monta! Check those out if you haven’t but sounds like I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. Also totally agree with you on the seiko. They lost the magic going from the scuba to the new line they have now, gotta go on Chrono24 for the original.

Beautiful selection. I love VC. The overseas is a gorgeous watch as is their small seconds historiques.

For me the standard royal oak blue dial would be the first foray into that tier of spend. The perpetual calendar Royal Oak or Nautilus would be something to get if things go very, very well lmao.

This is somewhat of a god-tier Rolex lineup - truly the spirit of the fully realized brand with PMs, colors, etc.

Another GS for you to check out if you havent is the SGBM221. Great little elegant GMT and the price is right. But ultimately you own a GS for its dial, so I get sticking to the heritage collection especially in the context of a broader list like this.

I too would like to buy out the Lange & FPJ inventories lol - in all seriousness, you’ve put together a great list here. DeBethune is a brand that I hadn’t heard much about until I saw them on WatchBox (I think they are owned by WatchBox?) and man those watches are GORGEOUS.

Surprised you’re missing PPs on here. Not a fan of the Nautilus? I am a big fan of the 5170G as well, which is a dress chronograph.

Seriously though - top top list. Thanks for sharing

You can go to the bottom of the ocean or to the moon with this lineup - clearly you’re more adventurous than I am! Look into Doxa Mission Timer I think you might like it.

Something about an ultra thin Overseas QP makes me happy. All that horological might in 8.1mm thick timepiece 🤯🔥

For some reason PP doesn’t really resonate with me. Not sure why. Maybe I think of them as a watch for my father or grand father. Maybe I’ll get into them in the coming decades. I much prefer the look of the Royal Oak over the Nautilus & Aquanaut. I’m sure I could find a handful of PP watches that I’d wear, I just don’t have any that I truly wish to own.

The GS you mentioned is a popular favorite amongst watch enthusiasts. I just prefer the more textured dials from them. I’ve got a Lake Suwa SLGA019 Lake Suwa coming in July I believe and I’m super excited about that one. It was a hard decision between it and the Japan AJHH Special Edition SLGA017 of which there are only 255. But it just a light blue version of the snowflake and mist flake dial (which I have) so Lake Suwa would be an all new dial texture for me.

Yes, WatchBox owns DeBethune. I have a buddy with a custom DB25 Starry Varius and it’s STUNNING. His dial replicates the stars in the sky at his parents house on the day he was born. 🤯 Truly Mind Blowing

·

Can’t go wrong with Seiko divers - my only thought would be to maybe try to get the original Scuba (I like the Pepsi but they have a black bezel) on Chrono24. They can be had well under $700 and I just love their look. But a seiko is a seiko - ultimately you can’t go wrong.

That small seconds calatrava is gorgeous. Check out the Baltic MR01 if you haven’t as well. Can be had for around $700.

Not that my opinion matters here, but overall I think this is a really great well balanced list - thanks for sharing!

Grand Seiko First

GS remarked this twice though.

Once in 2017 when they rebrand to just Grand Seiko and 2020 on their 60th anniversary

·

My current wish list, subject to change

  1. Stowa b uhr

  2. Moser Vantablack white gold

  3. GS Omiwatari

  4. Squale Onda in pink

Number 2 is definitely a grail watch that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to financially justify... but the Stowa is likely my next pick up

I feel like this might be Cartier's version of an explorer style watch, lot of fluff but with 100m WR.

Image

I think the Ballon Bleu is a modern classic, more feminine looking perhaps.

Image

Wouldn't mind this two tone beauty either.

Image

I feel like this would be a great 1-2 with my Cartier.

Image

Or this too.

These are all great

·
AshKetchup

Only problem is I really don't want to pay the current asking prices for used SKXs. Way overpriced now.

I get that. Especially at the price point. You pay double for a Rolex in 2022... not great, but at least you get a product that feels very high quality (not VC, but still good). But you pay $800 for a new scuba and you get like a $250 watch and you might rightfully be dissapointed tbh.

Luckily, I keep a wishlist nex to my work to do list to keep me motivated 🤣.

Wait, is this a wish list or a dream list... Hmmm. Mine is mix of both because some pieces are not really attainable.

VC:

Traditionelle Openface Tourbillon

Collection Excellence Platine Split-Seconds Chronograph Ultra-Thin (it a sickkk movement)

Image

Cornes de Vache platinum, but I'll take the steel as well!

222, but not as brave as @TheHoroSexual to wear this full gold piece

Overseas retrograde date (but I'll take a simple 3 hander in blue )

Image

ALS

Dufourgraph, the first datograph in rose gold with black dial

Zeitwerk Date, but my dream would be a handwerkskunst version or the minute repeater, which is the only dark blue dial version (so niceee)

Richard Lange Pour le merite

FP Journe

Chronometre a Resonance

Chronometre Optimum

Armin Strom mirrored force resonance

DB25 Perpetual Calendar

Starry Various also beautiful

The only LUC I like is this XPS officers something or other

Whew, that was a whirlwind! Not sure if anyone's going to make it all the way down here.

Absolutely made it down here and these are gorgeous man. Love the list. I meant this more as a wish list than a dream list, otherwise mine would look more like yours - trinity, FPJ, Lange, DB & H. Moser.

But this is a great list man!

·

Here's my wish list although I can almost guarantee none of them will ever happen...

  • Rolex Explorer 1

  • Omega Railmaster

  • 60s Omega Constellation

  • Vintage Gold Omega dress watch

  • Tutor Pelagos (older version without the in-house movement

  • ANY Casio 5600 variation watch handed to me by a group of 22 year old, 5'4", blonde, athletic, beach bunnies on the shores of Maui as they lotion my body against the detrimental effects of the sun.

I like the last one but if we’re dreaming why not have them hand you a Lange? 😉

·
IAMD14

I've owned the Apollo 8. To me the put such an outdated movement in such a futuristic beautifully designed watch is a massive letdown. Imagine an £10k watch with a non-hacking out of COSC movement...

Hmmm that’s fair... I guess we’ll see - personally I just love the look of it. All black ceramic, can add a deployment clasp, partially skeletonized dial, laser carving of the moon surface on the dial 😍

Porthole

I tend not to do this - seriously, I don’t have grails because it’s only ever going to lead to disappointment. I tend to let things wash over me, if it happens, it’s meant to be. I found my 50s/60s VC at the back of a jewellers five minutes from my house, and I found my Corum Lucifer a stones throw from Canterbury Cathedral on an anniversary weekend away having only really read about them that week. I’m not going to spend my days lusting after a Cartier Crash, I’m not made of money (yet…).

I do have a list of things I would like that are semi-obtainable, but it’s not a deal-breaker:

  1. Panerai Radiomir. It’s tough finding the right model, but it has to have some classic leanings. I do like the Eilean, but a clean, black classic model would also work. I’ve decided I want one, and therefore it’s the next big purchase, but I am in no rush considering the current #1wc model I’m rocking. I’ve always said if the Milgauss reaches spectacular prices now it’s discontinued then I’ll cash in and grab the Panerai with change.

  2. An original WWW Dirty Dozen. It’s tough, because on paper I probably should consider the Timor re-release, or the pricey Vertex M100A. Then again, I could just put up with an unmarked Baltany and feel ok about it, but it’s the appeal of a genuine serving one of these that seems to be tough to shift. Or a black-dialled Weems. I have a serving CWC G10, and a 1940s serving Enicar ATP, and they are two of the coolest watches I own, which leads me into…

  3. Benrus 3061. Bullit Benrus. There is a reissue, but maybe a nice Vietnam era Benrus would satisfy the itch. I had to send a beautiful one back as it dismantled in transit, and that was gutting. This itch is less bothersome as my ATP really ticks most of the boxes, and 2 and 3 are really just greedy choices for me.

  4. Corum Bubble Harley Quinn 8 dial. If I ever needed another Bubble it would be this over the Baron Samedi. The Lucifer I have (non-chrono) was a major scratch though, so I’m good without this. It’s a nice to have, but not something I’m crying about not getting.

  5. Which brings me onto the Montblanc Timewalker Hemispheres - Southern Hemisphere. I’ve had watches before I could never pull the trigger on (I’ve tried 5 times to convince myself to buy a Speedmaster, including limited editions, and 3 to buy a Pelagos) but this one is a huge regret, mainly because it’s harder to find and I’m a f*****g moron for not dropping on it in the first place. Even the wife didn’t get it… my watch “journey” would be so different, and probably wouldn’t even be a journey.

  6. Similarly, Tag reissued the Silverstone for a limited time over a decade ago. What…a.. dumb…f***…I…was… I didn’t learn either, the Cal.18 Telemeter they had about 3-4 years ago was pure s*x and I still didn’t bite. Less bothersome as I have a Omega Seamaster Chronostop that has 60s/70s racing cool on lockdown, and is much more OG, but I love the Silverstone.

  7. Heuer Kentucky - integrated bracelet flaw essentially kills this one dead for me, but it’s such a lovely watch. I’m not longing for it, but I’m never taking the risk and I’ve had to talk myself down a lot of times.

  8. Heuer Airline. Why I go weak at the knees for this I don’t know, but again, it’s not high on the list because most of them are in such poor condition. I missed a “salesman model” last year, that actually stung a little. I got over it though.

  9. My fathers 1960s Verity Chronograph. I have little to no chance “borrowing” it. Genuinely perfect though. I got the glass repaired for it, got it serviced for him… he loves that watch.

  10. Cuervo y Sobrinos… I do want one of these though, but it’s not urgent and it’s not keeping me up at night.

  11. A vintage diver with a Squale case… probably a matter of time tbh.

Love the thematic design language you’re expressing in this list. Very cohesive!

Thanks! I still like my G Shock Casioak tho don’t worry lol

·

I have an intended 10 watch collection and I imagine some will come and go to achieve this # but the ones on the docket include:

Glashütte Original Panomatic Lunar, green

a Grand Seiko sport GMT (to buy at Wako boutique in Tokyo)

Anordain Fume Plum (assuming I can get on the list . . . And assuming I can hold of the temptation to buy at flipper prices in used markets)

Speedmaster Professional Moonphase Aventurine dial (promotion to full professor)

Vacheron Constantin Historiques 1942 in steel or A Lange & Sohne Saxonia dual time in gold (book or major birthday)

JLC Master Control Geographic, steel (potentially swap out a couple others for this if the need is great)

(Some of the above may shift if I ever manage (unlikely) to get on the Asaoka waitlist or warm up to a future Naoya Hida)

(I do find myself staring at Trilobe every now and then . . . But do I need another dress watch esp one with a non-traditional way of time telling? I do know that if I got the secret version with the customized constellation map that my wife would be down . . . Of course the night sky of our wedding or first date or something . . . This is one that appears and disappears from the list a lot).

The above would be joining my current collection:

- Grand Seiko Shunbun

- Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro

- Studio UnderDog Mint Chip

- Kurono Midnight (this may be swapped out later for a diff Kurono or just let go . . . But we’ll see how I feel with the 34mm after a while)

- Moonswatch Pluto

- Nomos Club, NWC special edition

- Nomos Minimatik Nachtblau

- Seiko Alpinist Glacier blue, limited (although this one is currently on Chrono24 for sale)

·
  1. Omega Speedmaster - always thought Hesalite version, but now leaning to new Metas Sapphire Sandwich model. Probably next aquistion.

  2. Seiko Arnie - at some point, just a random piece I would like to try.

  3. Seiko MM200 GMT - new and looks intriguing.

  4. Grand Seiko - not sure which, maybe a GMT. Main interest is adding a Spring Drive to the collection.

  5. A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia: Current grail level piece to work towards obtaining at a future milestone.
