I’ve slowly been getting my girlfriend of about 4 years to wear and enjoy watches. She tends to wear either a Seiko essentials that we bought as a matching set, or an incredibly tiny quartz TimeX that I bought at an antique shop for $3.
Long story short, I decided to take a trip to a local resale shop (mostly to find watches for myself 🤫) and I spotted this little guy all the way in the back of a case. Needless to say, it’s a total score, especially for $20.
This thing is likely from the mid 60s and it’s basically NOS. It has a pretty standard but very nice 17 jewel manual winding A. Schild movement. This is her first mechanical watch, so I hope she’ll enjoy it.

That's a sweet little Hilton, and in pristine condition! Nice pickup! 👍 I hope she enjoys it too, it's a classy piece!
How big is your hand? Or how small is that watch? LOL! For $20 bucks that's a good find 🤙🏽
What is that, like 26mm? It's so small! Very cool, what a great find especially for that price!

I do have pretty large hands but this watch is exceptionally small!

Here it is next to a ~33mm Hamilton 9415a, crazy!
That's an awesome find, the movement looks lovely!
I tried to do the same for my wife last year. Picked up what I thought was a nice little Oris, turned out to be what I now know is a Mumbai Special! Never mind, live and learn.

Fakes always make me a little nervous! One thing that I've been doing to avoid fakes when shopping vintage is looking at brands that aren't really "worth" faking. Brands like this Hilton, Gruen, Enicar, Eterna, Nivada Grenchen, etc.

Absolutely, and that's why I thought an old Oris was a good shout! 😅 Turns out that was quite naive of me!

I’d have to agree!
It’s an AS movement, the logo is right there under the balance wheel. AS 1240 (or similar from that family).

Nice catch! Thanks!
That’s a cool tiny watch!
Geez! That thing’s as small as Napoleon’s member.
