Desk watch

For those of us that work inside, in an office and don’t need a G -SHOCK for typing, what are some of the best office watches?

Anything goes since 4 out of 5 I'm at home. I usually wear a chronograph as I'm often testing performance. And I keep an aircraft clock with two built-in chronographs on the desk. Probably a bit of overkill to be honest😁

Whatever floats your Walter Mitty boat. For me, it's desk astronaut or desk diver. Anything but desk office drone.

Depends on your needs. If you work with different time zones on a regular base a gmt might be very useful. Otherwise a chronograph might be useful to track times you needed for an exercise. Because I don‘t know the needs, I suggest a watch that implements both Sinn Finanzplatz 6000 or 6099

For the office, something with day/date and good legibility - maybe a Seiko SRPD or SRPE (depending on whether you want a timing bezel or not). They come in all sorts of colors and styles.

I love all my watches but not sure why I enjoy wearing my Citizen Promaster Diver looks good and no need to worry about damaging or scratching the case.

My second would be my dress watch. The shiny King Seiko and the purple dials looks great on a dress shirt.

For what its worth I think ryan gosling and idris elba have been said by a certain gentleman of funk to classily wear digital watches around electronics. All I know is that it is likely that they at least did this once each. Personally, I noticed that my casio digitals do well around the computer, speakers, etc, and use the Ae1200 (3 of them), and a small data bank (no calculator, I have a fullsized thing for that). I killed a cheap mechanical the same way. When I want to feel more relaxed like I'm on vacation I wear the lightweight G-Shock I took to the beach. If I want to feel like I'm doing something fancier than regular work despite still being at work, I can put on my analog-digital lineage. For work I'm mostly no nonsense tho. For me, things without countdown timers are strictly understated dinnerwear or outerbling for something to look kingly.
