Seiko SRPE05K vs SRPH37K

looking for a green diver, and on the fence between the two watches below. price difference at the current time between the two is 35 dollars with the 37K being the slightly more expensive one. but makes up for it by having a steel bracelet and a nice box. main differences: -37k has black day date wheel 05K is white -ceramic bezel text is slightly different color on the 12 to 4 o clock. - Divers 200 text is white on 37k and copper on 05K. - seconds hand is white on the 37K and copper gold on the 05K - Chapter ring on 37K is black and on 05K it's Green I'll put more photos in the comments section below

IMO the SRPH37K is beautiful.  I'm a Seiko Prospex lover. Great watches . You can't go wrong with either

·

I chose “B”. In my experience, Seiko bracelets aren’t great and I just can’t buy a $1000 watch without a good bracelet.

·

Don't... don't buy watches with warts.

·

If it's just 35 dollars difference between the two, my advice is buy the one with the bracelet. The more they give you the better. 35 dollars for a genuine Seiko rubber strap is quite nice.

·

vouch on the one with the bracelet. is this a sumo?

That's the King Turtle/Turtle series.

Personnellement, j'aurais choisi la version JDM d'une de ces montres.🇯🇵

Pour la magie de la mention "Made in Japan" et le jour Kanji.😅

Mais pas forcément facile à trouver partout, je le concède.😉

I chose the 37K mainly because of the black day/date, but I’ve heard the Seiko rubbers are actually quite comfortable (just tend to run long if you’ve got smaller wrists). I wouldn’t be too persuaded by the bracelet/strap since you’ll likely want to try it on something else ultimately…Seiko isn’t really known for being the best in that department…even GS.

both very nice... i'd give the edge to 37k, looks both cleaner and more special to me

·

I'd personally go with the 37. I haven't seen that one as much as I see the other, and I like the bezel insert. Plus you get the bracelet.

·

05 for me. I embrace the white day/date as a person who wore an SKX013 almost exclusively for 7-8 years. I also like the white date wheel as it is replacing a white indice. I am not a fan of gold in general and I was afraid of gold accents until I got an SPB149. The gold is so subtle and adds to the warm feeling of the watch. The bracelet doesn't factor in for me as Seikos are most others in this category. I could go either way on the chapter ring, they both look good!

If I was to get one of either that cyclops would be coming off.  I've heard of people removing it or I guess just upgrade the crystal once warranty is over of course.

love the Kanji date wheel and the Japanese made ones have good quality control, unfortunately they are hard to find here in australia since they discontinued the watch and the 37K is a australia only release. did you also remove your cyclops on your turtle?

I've found their stock bracelets to be below average at best and replacing some with the uncle seiko or strapcodes has been a good alternative. I'd say the best bracelet I've recently gotten was the spb315. it's a B- but it is a handsome bracelet in the hand

that's it, its one of the pet peeves i had with the new alpinist, small watch with a cyclops. sarb017 was where the alpinist DNA ended. I'm not sure about the cyclops either but Like you said there's a few tutorials on YouTube on cyclops removal etc. and could easily swap the sapphir  crystal out with another sapphire crystal.

As an 05 owner I can't recommend it enough. 💚🐢

I buy my JDM watches from Japanese sites. I regularly find them at -40/50% off the recommended retail price. I also buy a lot of used ones, preferably because they are in very good condition. Even if some do not find it very aesthetic, the Cyclops does not bother me. I prefer to keep my watches as close to their original specifications as possible. My only concession to modding is bracelet change and/or Kanji day wheel.😉
