I love vintage designs but I'm always a bit weary of the older movements inside, the more expensive services, the flimsiness and abysmal water resistance... So I will have to vote for vintage inspired. The looks but with the technological advancements and peace of mind to enjoy them.
I have vintage watches and I own them with the understanding that they might need some extra attention or fail at being completely dependable, I also have vintage inspired pieces that I lean on for water resistance / dependability, but imo almost no one does the scale of vintage right. My 60's Seamaster is light and tiny and even a "smaller" Lorier Falcon is going to feel heavy by comparison.
I'm a nut for vintage -- but I know I need to add $250 to service any vintage watch I buy; even if the seller says they just got it serviced. (They all lie.)

I like vintage but don’t trust my knowledge enough to buy anything truly vintage. So it’s modern and vintage inspired for me.
