? For Watchmakers and Assemblers...

Hey there folks! This is a question for all the makers and watch builders out there.

I'm putting together another gift watch using an NH34 movement and a case that should be able to house that movement correctly.

However, when I'm casing the movement, I find that the movement had too much space and moves about in the case. As if the plastic movement ring is too small. I've tried this in two cases that are made for NH movements.

Any thoughts?

What colour is the movement spacer?

Are you referring to the brown plastic holder on the movement itself or a separate white plastic movement spacer? If you don't have the latter, that's where you're going wrong.

You can use the case filler putty. I did not try it yet, but I have read that it works well.

I agree that you are likely missing a spacer ring. Unfortunately, they are often specific to the case. The putty that @mpolyakov mentioned may be an option. You could also contact the seller of the case about this. (This would probably be my first option.)
