Smaller sized GMT or world timer options

I've been wanting a GMT or a world timer for ages. Being a football fan and having family in another time zone, it really helps to have at least an additional timezone. I have a smallish wrist so would like something around 40mm or smaller. For my first GMT/World timer, I'd like to spend around 1500. I really liked the Airmen No1 in the black dial but not a fan of the GMT hand and they are now too hard to find. I really like the Farers, green dial Lander IV and Roche but both are sold out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is small. But I get the feeling it isn't quite what you're looking for 😉

What a beautiful watch. I have one in the gold/black/green. Love your taste. I should have been more clear, my first non digital worldtimer/gmt.

Farer might restock those soon, if not then the world timers are still available, similar price but smaller (38.5mm) case.

Thanks. I just checked and the Roche worldtimer shows sold out for me. Maybe you're referring to the Aldrich.

Ahhh yes, the Aldrich is the one they have available. I heard on a video that they were restocking old models and adding new colorways to the 3-hander ones, don't remember which video so don't quote me on that, but they said October.

I have 3 different options for you

Dressier Option - Longines WorldTimer L2.631.4.70.6

Adventurer Option - Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT

Funnier Option - Farer lander IV (Back to stock in October)

I would go with the C63 too or wait for the Farer Lander to be restocked

·

Maybe one of these? They even come in 36mm. Have been thinking about this reference for over a year now, but the missing date complications keeps me from going for it just yet.

My Zelos Horizons GMT is 39-40mm in diameter and is very good. The current generation is all sold out but knowing Zelos I'm pretty sure they will relaunch it or have a similar GMT model waiting for its turn.

I could not find a true GMT +- in you price range but here is a nice office GMT offering from U-Boat for about $1500.00

Found the video. Farer's Paul Sweetenham says the Lander comes back in October. https://youtu.be/uaSphcb2tG4

Thanks so much Thiago. The Farer lander is the one I really like. Being a football fan and Liverpool supporter, the cw devil fork seconds hand, just reminds me of man United and I just can't do it.

The Longine one looks interesting, I'll do more research on it. Thanks

Nice, thanks for taking the time to find the video. I can't wait, hopeful I can save up in time.

I like some of the CW stuff, but I just can't unsee the Man United devil seconds hand. I'll try save up for the restock or move some of the watches on. I haven't tried on a farer before and I saw from your post you have one. How are they for you?

Thanks so much. I haven't considered the Zelos.

Wow.. I love the dial. Yes, agree, a date would be good. However, I'm not sure where you'd put a date in there, maybe at the 6?

At that price range I can understand would be hard to find a true GMT so I'm not too fussed if it was an office GMT. The lefty is throwing me off and along with the subdial. I'll search on their site and see if there are other options, I'm kot too familar with UBoat. Thanks

Haha I see what you mean with Man U's devil, even if Ward is a sponsor of Everton and their sister brand Tribus is a Liverpool fan.

I am really happy with my Farer, still collecting elements to make a proper review in some time. The case is really well designed and sits perfectly on my wrist, the watch is heavy and feels solid and well built. The enamel white dial on my resolite is stunning, and what a lume ! definitely the distinctive thing in that watch. A serious microbrand, that's not just luck if they won the Microbrand contest few weeks ago !

Yes, I have a Tribus and I'm gutted that they have shut shop.

Thanks. I saw your photos of your resolute and I was like..wow. I couldnt take my eyes off it, the dial and I love the numerals. The shade of green (is it green?) just makes the numerals pop. I can't wait for your full review.

I just tried the Longines L2.631.4.70.6 (see thiago's post on Wednesday) very recently in an AD. It's no longer made and originally cost over €2k but now under €1,400. I think it's 38.5mm but felt smaller. So  Longines can make a watch without long lugs.  The bracelet wasn't bad and the watch wore nice and flat on my almost 7" wrist. Barley corn dial is a nice touch. It's part of the Master Collection and the movement is based off the ETA 2824-2.

Thank you very much mate. Actually the lume is more on a blue tone, green is really subtle. I'll try to take a night picture side to side with my SNK wich has plain green lume to make it more obvious in comparison

Can't wait to see the comparison.

Haven't had much time to expose the watches to the light but here is a side to side comparison of the lume !

Left the Seiko, right the Farer

Wow... That blue on the Farer, such clarity.
