I love my HQ. I have the 41mm blue on bracelet and it was my daily d[r]iver for well over a year, just an awesome watch. Now I really want to get other watches, such as a Pelagos and a PloP someday, and can’t justify having the HQ when I know I’ll wear the others more. It’s great, but I need to move on. Tastes change!

My predicament is that I used (read: loved) the watch so much it got a couple little dings and I’m not sure how much resale value it holds anymore. Not a deal breaker, and obviously expected, but still kind of a downer.

You have to have seven Sinns—no more, no less. Those are the rules.

You’re confused? *I’m* confused.

It’s a little hard to explain. My friend Evan does a better job than I can: https://youtu.be/A0_ImXTrzLo?si=FKpStQepwEwPF1_5

This Q makes my head hurt. Or maybe it’s just dehydration.

They’re very Sinn-esque, and also take a few small inspirations from the old school tool divers from the 70’s. I also appreciate the design language on these watches. Thankfully, Vero is a local company and I’ve met the owner and their horologist—they’re awesome and make awesome watches.

I don’t dive (yet) but I don’t put much thought about using a depth-rated watch in the water. I treat them as tools that are also jewelry, some more precious than others but still tools. I wouldn’t go into the water with a white gold Sub or a vintage Seiko, but a Tudor BB? Any of my Longines? My Vero Open Water? Absolutely. They’re timekeeping tools that were engineered to keep time wherever I go, and I’ll use them as such, whether that’s how they’re in current use or not.

I actually have used my Alpinist for navigation while on a hike—and yes, I did get mud on my shoes. Is it advisable? No, there are obviously far better, more precise tools, but it served as a good backup in a pinch.
