Do your watches reflect who you are?
I'm an introvert with a lot of extrovert tendencies. I can be loud, I like to travel, I'm social and being the center of attention isn't my get down but it doesn't bother me. What I really prefer is to chill, relax and lie low. I'm totally comfortable being alone or in a small group. I don't dress for attention. I want to blend in. A monochromatic pallet with a little blue or green suits me fine. Flashy isn't very comfortable.
I have a watch collection that's very similar to who I am. I don't have anything that's to colorful or to far off the beaten path. Safe is how I like to collect and that means known brands and known models. Comfortable is what I want to wear.
I think my collection reflects who I am pretty well. Am I the status quo? Or do you wear brite or loud watches and dress conservative? Maybe brite matches your personality and collection. Do your watches reflect who you are?

I thought about adding fun pieces and then my stupid logic gets in the way and I ask myself how often wouldI really wear that if I owned it.
My watches are all safe, reliable, classic, quiet, capable killers. Yes my watches reflect who I am 🌈

I know right I want an orange Doxa in the worst way but I can't see myself wearing it. I've tried to talking myself into getting it just to go see the Giants play. I still couldn't do it. I need a co-signer for that watch.

Yup. I understand 100%. I won't buy a Sub because it's to common so I got the Explorer ll. I didn't get a Speedy I got the FOiS because is a little different. I don't want to be noticed but I need to be a shade different. Just for transparency I wore a yellow G-Shock for years as my only watch before I started collecting.

Anyways what's not to love about the Stooges. I know the Legend! Izzy's a little before my time but his influence on David Bowe, the Ramones, Nirvana and Queen of the Stone Age is still alive and well. I can probably throw in Herry Rollins in there too.

I have the Pilot bracelet and it’s one of my favorite three bracelets.
My IWC was a sleeper hit for me. It to me is the perfect everyday class watch. The finishing is very good, it’s not at Grand Seiko or Lange level, but the finish and build is solid. IWC for me is one of a few brands that I’d actually own multiple pieces from. I like them that much.
On bracelet the watch sits very well balanced and actually helps bigger watches balance out believe it or not. People don’t give IWC enough props for their bracelet engineering/design and build quality.

IWC quick change straps are about as easy as it gets, changed this morning.
If I recall you favor GO and IWC def leans toward the German speaking side of the industry, I think you’ll enjoy that aspect.
Good topic. I'm an introvert as well and tend to buy watches which reflect that aesthetic. But I've found watchery in general attracts introverts to a certain degree. The borderline irrational focus on reference minutiae, historical significance and deep research before buying all play into the traits of a certain personality type. So yeah....lol!
