Orient Bambino v4 (What I am learning)

I bought this at the beginning of my watch journey (1 year ago). I think it was around $200? I naively thought that every watch around this price point was going to be this fantastic. Comfortable, automatic, beautiful blue hands, applied indices, great finishing, reliable movement. Boy was I wrong! This is a rare gem for the price and quality. I learned that price isn’t the best indicator for a great watch. This is 40 mm (my wrist is 7 inches) and I think it looks great. I wore it one time as a dress watch (now I am looking at the new gold 38mm bambino for that) but I mainly wear it as an every day piece.

Who doesn’t love a Bambino!?! Great watch!

·

Love it! Such a great do it all watch.

“I learned that price isn’t the best indicator for a great watch.” How true. I find true value very elusive.

·

That’s a nice looking watch.

What type of calibre auto or manual?

·

It's a beautiful watch. I got into watches last June and my first watch was an Iron Annie Bauhaus. I wanted the Junghans Max Bill but I was just starting and did not know how the hobby was going to unfold. They are not the same, but somewhat in the same broad category, so much so that I am finding your Bambino very attractive as well.

Check out San Martin, Sugess, Pagani Design, Sea-Gull, Proxima. They’re Chinese watches but they vary in price from $80(ish) to $400(ish) dollars. 👌🏽

·

They also have a great new 38mm V7 Bambino in cool colors. 👍🏼

I agree. Interesting how I feel more and more that way after looking at a lot of watches this last year.

How accurate is the movement?

The Bambino is a fantastic value (not to mention, a strap monster 😀).

I’ve never owned a Bambino, but I think my choice would be the V2 or the small seconds.

This 38mm version is a 20mm lug. That strap is a 20mm from Vario.

I could not agree with you more here! The value for money is unmatched. I am still in a little bit of shock myself after buying the Bambino V8
