Is integrated bracelet watches a sustainable trend?

I think most of us would agree that integrated bracelet watches is one of the hottest trends in terms of watch style in recent times. It has become a popular go-to option for many of the watch buyers. I also believe this is the very reason why some brands release/reintroduce watches of this particular style, such as Tissot with the PRX, IWC with the Ingenieur, Chopard with the Alpine Eagle, etc.

While trends come and go, certain styles/types do last, e.g. dive watches, dress watches, GMT, etc.

As such, do you think integrated bracelet watches is one that will last for years to come? Do you like them?

Happy to hear any thoughts that you might have.

It’s not going anywhere. Like other fashion styles things tend to come and go and in waves. Integrated bracelets have been around for 50 years or so . . . And they are having a moment now sure . . . And I’d wager this streak may die down for a few years for the watch masses and then come back again at some later time.

You're absolutely right. One thing I didn't mention is that they have surely have been around for quite some time (i.e. 50+ years). I was focusing more on its recent surge in popularity.

I think the brands that jumped on the bandwagon will reduce or eliminate integrated bracelets from their line-up during the dip. I suppose you'll get back to fewer offerings from brands that feature integrated bracelet watches as part of their core collection. I'd include Christopher Ward on the list.

Sustainable since the 70s

As per the Lindy effect in Nassim Taleb’s books, “The longer an artifact has been around, the longer it's likely to stay around”

No,

I think AP would like to think that… they’ve been riding the Royal Oak for more than 50 years…

I think the hype over integrated bracelets will die down for 2024. I don’t think they will go away but I think they peaked in 2023. I sure hope so because I can’t stand integrated bracelets. To be fair, I don’t wear bracelets, so integrated bracelet watches are typically off the table for me.

Like others said, I don’t think the style will go away (see Royal Oak and Nautilus) but I don’t think we’ll see any new integrated models like we saw in 2023. I think the market is now over saturated.

Yes.

I don’t feel like integrated sports bracelets are a recent trend. They’ve been around since the 1970’s with the Royal Oak and the Nautilus. They were hot then and hot now. My personal favorite is the Christopher Ward The Twelve. Although the PRX does give it a run for it’s money at half the price.

Some look better than others, but I think that integrated bracelets will stay.
