Which diver watch on a 6k-10k range?

Hello everyone, I’m reducing my collection again, and for now I’m keeping a chrono and a more dressier watch. But I’m still missing that tool/diver watch for a daily driver.

I don’t have many watches on my mind that would be great at the range I want to try.

The two watches I’m thinking are Omega Seamaster 300m and a Glashutte Original SeaQ. But I would love to have a Submariner on this price range as I always wanted a Rolex in my collection.

What you all think? Should I just join Rolex waitlist and be patient? Are there any other great dive watches on this price range? What are your suggestions?

This will probably be my biggest purchase, so I want to exercise all the options carefully.

Thanks!

If I were in the market for a diver in that price range, I would get the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Ref. 5100 1140 O52A. This image is the blue one, but perhaps the black one would be more to your liking.

Since you would love to have a Rolex sub so yes, join the waitlist. But there is many great divers at that pricepoint, and more importantly, below. Well below.

Plus one on joining the waitlist if what you really want is a Rolex sub.

Since it's your biggest purchase, you should really get what you want and not settle for something else. A little patience here will be well worth it.

I would get a Tudor Pelagos and spend the extra on straps and another watch.

Second the Blancpain if you dig the style though I don't know if you have any specific opinions on sailcloth...I don't like Blancpain's bracelets for whatever reason and they feel like they're designed to be worn on sailcloth.

If you are open to compressor styles, I have enjoyed (though have not long term owned) the JLC polaris and think JLC tends to make largely underrated bracelets.

Of the two you've mentioned, I mostly adore the SeaQ, particularly in green.  Great movement, great bracelet, class leading micro adjust system.  One thing that may be annoying is that the bracelet has polished center links, which makes it a lot dressier (or scratch prone depending on how you're feeling).

Yeah, I don't really clicked with Blancpain design, but I've been watching a few videos of the JLC Polaris and it looks great. I'm more of a bracelet person. I'm not gonna lie but I like a little bling in my watches, so I kinda like the polished center links on the SeaQ, I also like ceramic bezel inserts.

If you really want a Sub, join the waitlist, but bear in mind, you'll most likely require a purchase history with an AD to even be considered for such a highly sought-after piece. May end up going past your budget.

I had a champagne dial black bay, a seamaster 300m (white dial), and a ulysse nardin diver. For me, the build quality, thinness, and somewhat dressier nature of the submariner sealed the deal. So happy with mine. Get on the list!

I also have the non-date blue Polaris. Great piece and great bracelet, although it does not feel quite as durable as the sub. Gets way more attention than the sub bc of how bright the blue is.

Hold put for that Submariner.  I love Rolex , own a few, have owned Subs in the past. I feel like there is a Rolex model every collector wants. The Submariner is incredible.  You will love it when you own it. I am in to Explorer models in Rolex and love other brands for divers ... but I'm crazy. Get on that list! I'll bet the call comes before you think it will.

The two you have suggested are excellent choices. I have yet to buy a German Glashutte Original SeaQ....but it is on my wish list...Enjoy the hobby
