Watches that just didn't work out for you?

Here are the two watches that I loved owning, but neither worked out for me and I regretfully sold them. I found the Seiko Tuna too tooly for me--it was odd because I felt it never went with my style although the design is what drew me to it in the first place. The Bulova Lunar Pilot...well, like many people who have the same gripes, it was just too big. It was borderline when I purchased it and it's size became even more noticeable when I dropped some weight.

What are some watches that you wanted to like but ultimately just didn't work out for you?

The Orient Bambino looked good in reviews. It looked good on a grey NATO when it arrived. But then the date window started to annoy me. And it's too big to be a dress watch at 40.5mm. And the water resistence is just 30m. And I don't really need a dress watch anyway. And don't get me started on that silly heraldic crest...

It had to go.

When I first got into watches and went down the Youtube reviewer rabbit hole, I remember the Bambino being highly recommended to new watch collectors. Needless to say, glad I didn't convince myself to buy one because I have the same thoughts.

Do you think you would have kept it if you had the 38mm version instead?

Nah. I have no need for a dress watch. I wore my Seiko SKX007 to dinner with the local mayor recently. And to a funeral. I don't think any one would care, even if they noticed.

Casio Duro. Very well made watch, a lot nicer than it should have been for the price, but it was too big and did not wear comfortably on my wrist. Have it to a friend who wears it everyday now.

I definitely understand with the Duro. That’s currently the largest watch in my collection and I barely pull that one off. Keeping it since it’s such a value for what it is.

Most of the watches in my WRUW lol. Really liked them but ultimately not enough room for all.

Beautiful but too big, too heavy, too conspicuous and too easily damaged.

Just looked at the specs, that’s definitely a hefty one! Cool watch though.

Over size watches and chronographs did not work out for me. I have small wrist anything bigger than 41mm forget it. Chronographs are nice but I don’t I don’t have use for it.

Seiko king samurai - I tried to get on with it but it was just too angular and big. Ended up parting ways

I really wanted a Samurai at one point but could always tell that it would be too large for my wrist. A shame since it's one of Seikos coolest watches.

The Steeldive Emperor Tuna. Not the size ironically, the terrible lume. At ten ounces, it is a chonky boi.
