When you happen to have a watch that matches the wedding colors…
And a strap that matches your suit. A Zelos Swordfish 40 in Sage on a Wrist Candy Watch Club gray fabric/leather strap may not be the dressiest option...
Between the watches pictured, the Tissot is the superior specimen. But I don't own a Tissot, I own four Seikos (soon to be five) and two microbrands (maybe soon to be three) that have Seiko movements. And five micros with Miyota (Citizen) movements for good measure. I keep telling myself I'll get a Tissot PRX or Le Locle at some point and somehow ended up with a pair of Midos from Jimashop instead.
Something I find is 4S/NH Seiko movements tend to run pretty well when they measure somewhere around +10 on the grapher, but it's also highly dependent on how you move while wearing it and the environment you're in. Heat, including body heat, slows things down a lot. The same watch on a bracelet might run 5-10sec slower than on a double-pass NATO strap because the strap insulates the watch from body heat.
For the level of finish San Martin offers I feel they're holding themselves back using NH movements when they could easily command a premium by slimming down their watches and using Miyota 9000 series. It's especially holding back their GMT offering not using the 9075.
I started with an elastic on my Islander Mitchel, but ended up going to a Zulu strap (think short single-pass NATO without the foldover tail) as the MN-style strap kept loosening up on me.
