Omega Aqua Terra Rubber Strap

Hi guys,

I want to see in details what an authentic AT rubber strap and deployant strap looks like to compare with this after market one I bought. Can whoever owns an authentic piece that my AD is quoting at $700 share some pictures?

Trying to see if this after market piece I paid $60 for is any good. So far, its pretty comfy and looks just like the authentic one to my untrained eyes. Only complaint I have is it is slightly thick, but then that's true of most deployant clasp.

$700 for a strap. This is so outside my world. I can't help, but I wanted to say your AT is beautiful. It's one of my grails. :)

Yeah, I’d say I don’t care how good the strap is, it’s not worth $700. A strap like that is only for people who don’t notice tiny sums under $10k.

The Omega Rubber Strap with deployant is my favorite rubber strap...period. I have it on my Seamaster 300M. Once I found out they make them for the 300M, I had to have it. The watch hasn't been on the bracelet since...in fact, I threw away the bracelet. It's not as nice of a design as the one on my Worldtimer had, that had the same pattern as the one you are showing, but it's so comfortable.

Buying straps from the brands, in my experience, is always a matter of the product being massively overpriced. The first time I needed to replace a strap was on my Breitling, and I knew nothing about straps. I paid $600 for a Breitling brand alligator with buckle. Now, years and a lot of knowledge later, I know how much I overpaid. I can have a strap bespoke, custom made, out of the same material for under $200!

I think all brands are really short sighted on the topic of selling straps to existing customers. Every brand I ever look at on this is highly overpriced, and I feel that they are banking on the ignorance of their existing customer to change these prices. Triple the cost of a comparative aftermarket seems to the the OEM standard. It’s not about quality. Both aftermarket and OEM straps can be equally well made. The difference is what they charge.

All of that said, I have an AT with the strap and deployant you are considering. It was on the watch when I bought it, and yes it is very nice. Would I pay $700 for it? No. As nice as it is, I know I could have THREE custom made straps and a couple of off the shelf to boot for that much.

I love my Seamaster also. But I have to ask, why did you throw away the bracelet? There’s value in an OEM bracelet. I’d say the value for one with all the links is probably $200, and as easy sell.

Agreed. Send all future "trash" bracelets to me. 🙂

Omega thinks very highly of there straps but then so does Panerai, Tudor, IWC so they seem to get away with it. This one you have here looks excellent. I had a custom strap made from leather with red stitching made for one of my Speedmaster watches and it was only $300. But i think you got a bargain.

I assume you kept the bracelet??? Try buying links for bracelets. I have a older two tone (gold/stainless) and the darn link was $700...absolutly nuts..

Yeah, not throwing away my bracelet. Just wanted to see what all the hoopla is about with the rubber strap. So far so good ..

I have this one in Blue. It looks a little thinner than that. Otherwise it’s pretty spot on. I have already saved one in my Etsy cart in case mine goes. It looks just like the one I have. Even stamped. Keep it. You found a good one.

It was acting up...the divers extension part....and I didn't want to mess with it.

I can understand not wanting to mess with it. I haven’t heard anything about these being problematic, which makes me wonder if yours was defective. Did you buy at an AD, because if you had a valid warranty they might have replaced the bracelet free of charge.

I think I messed it up a bit when I first got it. I was pretty new at the time. Anyway, doesn't matter, it's long done.

I've wanted this watch in Titanium for too long. IMO I love Omega straps and am willing to way over pay for their straps. I've pulled off so many high end watch bracelets on new watches I can't count them (more than once with Grand Seiko) the point is, how much did I pay for Titanium or steel (even gold) bracelets I'll never wear? Over pay the $700.00 for a strap you will use until you wear it out

Your clasp is fully polished and the logo is too big. The real Omega deployant uses a mix of brushed and polished surfaces with the top of the clasp being brushed and the sides a high polish. The logo is a bit smaller too. I’ll send picks of mine soon.

I have a crappy iPhone 10. So excuse the bad visuals.

No strap is worth $700. That’s so wild.
