My first tuning fork watch!

Wow. The predecessor to Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive!

I am amazed to see that smooth, sweeping seconds hand, and that sound! Although I am not 100% sure what it’s supposed to sound like, due to not all frequencies getting picked up by a microphone, I think this one has a very high pitched, constant noise. Kinda like tinitus! I’ll have to wear it for a while before I decide what to do.

Anyways, this was an impulse buy. I saw ONE video about these movements and went hunting immidiately. I found one a day or two later, and knew that I had to get it! Only downside I can think of, is that this movement, is something I won’t ever touch myself, due to all the sensitive parts.

Let’s see your tuning fork watches!

Cheers for the read!🍻

Thanks! It was a hassle getting it fitted for my wrist.. droopy and way too few links😅 I made it work though.

Congratulations Tobias! I love the raised indices, they certainly look like light catchers! Beautiful watch!

Very cool. Thanks for the inside shot. It looks very similar to the Accutron 214. Here is my Accutron 214 Spaceview

The sound is called the tuning fork hum. It's at a 360Hz frequency.

Yes I love that, but! There is another sound, and it’s around 8900hz. That’s what I’m referring to! Most of the time it’s deafening the 360hz hum, which I find kinda sad.

Thank you Danilo! I absolutely agree! Combined with the 6’o’clock burst, it’s gorgeous!

Handsome piece! I'm pretty curious about that era's various exploratory/hybrid movements - not to mention design sensibility! - and hope to own an example eventually.

It’s exciting! You can almost feel that it’s unfinished compared to Spring Drive. Can’t wait to get my hands on more🤪

Yeah these things are great but you can't sleep with them on the bedside table.

Found out pretty quick. Even after wearing it for a day now I still hear that 8900hz in my ears, might’ve given myself temporary tinitus

How can you hear that? Are you a beagle? No way I’m hearing it over a cpap.

I swapped out for the alpha hands. Still think they fit better on the conversions. Great lume though.
