A piece of history

Well. What do I say?

Since I got my first generation Apple Watch in 2016, I have longed a «real» Mickey Watch. I used the Mickey dial everyday for about two years, and still, today with my Apple Watch Series 9, I choose the Mickey dial 7/10 times.

(This was the day after new years, cut me some slack!)

After this I thought; you know what? I’ll find a vintage Timex Mickey Watch. Now’s the time.

On eBay there were a lot of watches. I took my no longer than a couple of weeks to find the perfect one, and the only one in this spesific spec.

From ebay:

I just had to have it!

After approx. two weeks og arrived on my doorstep, and the first thing I did was to polish the crystal; it was a lot more worn IRL than it seems in that photo.

Sanded it down:

And polished it up!

I think it has the perfect amount of patina. It runs a bit fast, but I’ll give it some time before I’ll have to service it.

I think I’m going to use this cool piece a lot going forward. What do you guys think? A good buy?

Anyone else on here with a Mickey from the 70’s?

As always, thanks for the read. Cheers!🍻

Absolutely! My goals this year is to thin out my collection. Not off to a great start..

I just found the exact match to what I had as a kid. Should be delivered soon. 😁

Exactly what I picture a Mickey Mouse watch being.
