New to the watch world

Here we go then, my first "proper" watch. I'm pretty new to the watch world, I find myself drawn mostly to GMT models and, being British, British brands. This watch ticks the former category with its "true" GMT movement in the L844.4.

As soon as I saw that green bezel with the gilt colour indicies, I had to have it. The first time I saw one in person I was able to try on a black bezel model, which was good to check sizing and help me know for sure the green was the model for me.

I bought it from my local AD and had great service, communications and the sales associate sized the bracelet for me in the shop.

I wore it for the first two days on the bracelet and have now swapped it over to my RIOS 1931 Pig skin leather strap in Cognac, as can be seen in the picture. It certainly dresses the watch up, making it look more sophisticated. I thought I'd prefer that to the bracelet, but now I'm not so sure. I'm going to experiment with a green or sand coloured canvas strap. I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.

Anyway, more to come from me later as I introduce the rest of the (small) collection.

Beautiful watch! I’ve been eyeing this GMT for a while. I also love the color combination, it’s one of the reasons I got my Seiko Alpinist. Hello and welcome!

Welcome, and congratulations on an amazing watch!

If you really are new, you made an exceptional and well-informed choice. My first couple of "proper" watches were traps. Nicely done!
