No, which is why I've never bought an Oris. There are lots of Swiss brands making awesome watches, that cost less than half of what the equivalent Oris does.
Oris Diver 65 - $2750 CAD
CW Aquitaine - $1680 CAD
Mido Oceanstar Tribute - $1325 CAD (already in Canada at an AD, so no customs)
Oris Aquis - $2800 CAD
CW Trident Pro 300 - $1325 CAD
Tissot Seastar - $975 CAD (from an AD in Canada)
Apart from the Cal. 400, I really struggle to see the appeal of Oris.
Edit: All watches are on a bracelet, and using "equivalent" movements, like the SW200, or Powermatic 80.
The coined bezel is worth more than that Hamilton to me. That and the date thang may add up to that many loonies, I don't know. Oh the crown isn't as wide too. Seems about right.
Oh, that's about 750USD. Yeah, I'm fine with that.
The beauty of Oris is the secondary market. It is very easy to grab a Pointer Date for $1000 or less, granted perhaps not with the new movement, but even that will be 1/2 price by this time next year.

It might be worth 1000 Loonies, but only half as many Toonies.
I own a big crown and spec wise for the price it's not great value, but something about the design of the big crown in bronze with the bordeaux red dial I just loved and nothing else would do. I think unless you feel very passionately about the design or history of the big crown the murph is a much better value for your money

You also have to remember that Oris is independent, while Hamilton is part of Swatch Group and has access to ETA movements at "cost".
But I do have both 😂
