An unexpected Tudor Pelagos FXD...
I wasn't really looking for one, but when I saw my local AD had one available, I decided I'd give it a try (they had freshly taken it out of the safe after a customer failed to show up on time to buy it). I thought I wouldn't like to fixed lugs. I thought I wouldn't like the titanium. I thought I wouldn't like the velcro strap. I was wrong. I was wrong. I was wrong.
I'm French, and although I don't have a special connection with the Marine Nationale, I used to spend my holidays in Toulon and Saint Mandrier, in the South of France, where the Commando Hubert is based.
I freaking love the rugged utilitarian look of the FXD. I already have a diver (Omega SMP300, white dial) and already own a blue dial watch (Chopard Alpine Eagle 41mm), so I was concerned this FXD would be redundant. Time will tell, but I love thinking that I have such a playful watch that I can barely feel on my wrist in my collection. Now on hunt for the perfect collection of NATO / Zulu straps!

Love the FXD. Looks, like you said, rugged and utilitarian- just downright functional. The titanium case and velcro strap only accentuate the light wrist feel. I’m an LHD owner and sometimes (briefly) i daydream engineering a swap for a FXD. I believe that some watches are plain old tools and should be used as such. Doesn’t mean that they also can’t just be also a great looking watch.
Congratulations! I too own the FXD and it has become my go to watch these days.

Here it is on an Erika’s originals MN Strap (Trident - Dark grey) - I changed to this from the original Velcro strap so I don’t ruin it as I wear it almost daily now.
But it looks great on an admiral Grey nato as well

They’re elastic… but it’s not like a floppy elastic once it’s secured it feels like a comfortable nato. The hardware matches the watch perfectly as well
