I would keep the Explorer II. Both nice watches, but I would just never wear the Cartier, too dressy for my lifestyle.

Same dilemma.

If you can't and need serious money, sell your Rolex (mind you, prices are going down these days).

If it's just to empty your watch box I recommend selling your Cartier.

Sell both.

Do you need to sell?

How do you come out with this? Mind explaining what been through your thoughts?

Do you need to sell?

Maybe? Just seeing that i have too many watches already.

My thought process is a Rolex tends to bring more money in the grey market but it can be quite a pain in the ass if you want to buy one new or if you want your Rolex with particular details.

Cartier in the other hand loses value in the grey market but still easier to buy at an AD compared to Rolex.

What is the rest of your collection? All Rolex or all Cartier?

Ooo, nice.

I'n partial to the Explorer, but the Explorer II is a bit more visually interesting.

I currently prefer the look of the Tank Américaine above the Santos... but that's me.

How much often do you wear each?

And, by the way, it doesn't seem like too many watches. They're just all expensive. 😀

I’d sell both. These 3 are more than enough watch to keep me happy.

Tempting solution.

I’ve never been a fan of selling. I’ll never trust sending my watch to a stranger in the hopes of not getting screwed over somehow, and I don’t know anyone that is into watches.

I’ve never been a fan of trading watches in because the loss is too steep for my taste. Taking a typical 50% loss to pad dealers bottom line makes the idea of just giving the watch away to a curious friend much more appealing.

But I still have no regrets on any of the watches in my primary collection. Because I keep them in a safety deposit box, I don’t see them every day. When I go to the bank to swap out for a new watch, I fall in love with my collection all over again! No, really. My advice, if you are thinking of getting rid of a watch in your collection, put it back in its box and set a reminder on your phone to next look at it six months later. Good chance you’ll appreciate that watch all over again, as opposed to having to deal with a financial loss in addition to missing the watch once it is gone.
