46mm Jumbo Diver/Pilot's Automatic Chronograph (CSAR) with Stainless S

The 46mm Jumbo Diver/Pilot's Automatic Chronograph (CSAR) is commonly known as the Chronograph Search and Rescue (CSAR) and is the most coveted of our SAR Class. It is considered the "Grail" of our watches and is the perfect choice for those who demand the best in quality and performance.

A few days ago, I was running errands and I found this small jewelry shop. I went inside and long story short, the guy had the watch shown above, with box, papers, rubber strap and everything else for consignment for $1,000 and told me that he would pay the taxes. Okay. Fine.

Now, let's say if I had $1,000 to spend on a watch BESIDES this one, what would you recommend? What was your first watch that you bought that was around that $1,000 and/or just a little north of that?

Let me know what you got for $1,000 and what is out there for about $1,000 that would be a better buy than this. By the way, I have the Marathon JSAR 46mm already.

Thanks for the advice and help!😉

Completely different type of watch but for around $1000 I would go for the Christopher Ward C63 and add a G-Shock as well.

That is hard to say without knowing a little bit more about your tastes. Obviously you like dive watches. Do you like any other style or trying to fill a hole in your collection with some other style (sport, dress, pilot, GMT, field, etc....)? The microbrands come instantly to mind at this price point, something like Christopher Ward is always a good option. Or Baltic, Traska, Studio Underdog, are some others. With the microbrands there are so many options.

Thanks! I will take a look at the brands mentioned. I mean, you can also look at my profile/gallery and check out what I have so you can at least get an idea of my tastes😎
