As i didn t have a Vostok i got no love for 'em. But i got 2 Poljots and love em a whole lot. Simple, reliable watches whom can take a beating if neccesary
I was seriously looking at one, then the Russians decided that their borders werenโt sufficient and invaded Ukraine. Now I wonโt buy one until the Russians stop trying to destroy the world and the geopolitical situation gets resolved. I support the sanctions and Ukraineโs continued existence as a sovereign nation.
Only Vostok Europe, made in Lithuania for me. The russian ones are crap, like everything else they make.
Got my Amphibia 420059 pre-invasion, with the inoffensive scuba dude (no tanks or fighter jets). A piece unlike anything else I have in my collection, I treated it as my beater before getting my G-Shock.
The movement is not super reliable but it takes itโs daily dose of hand-winding well (unlike the Powermatic 80). It holds about 30 hours of power reserve when hand-wound. Quick change date function, but that means that thereโs no independent date setting function, so have that into account if you donโt rotate the watch.
The crystal and the bezel will scratch, but itโs easy both polishing the crystal and changing the bezel for another one if the need arises. Meranom was a popular website for spares before the war, I donโt know if itโs still possible to buy parts from there anymore.
The water (and beer) resistance has been proven several times and has never let me down in that aspect
Iโve heard terrible things about their bracelets so I ordered mine on a NATO. Itโs a coarse NATO, not very supple, but it does the job and the watch is comfortable to wear all day long. The smaller case size and lug-to-lug make it a good choice for my medium in the smaller side wrist.
Agree with everything TekindusT said.
I have a Vostok Amphibian 120512. Itโs a unique, fun watch and I love the look of itโฆ. gets way more wrist time than I thought it would. The strap on mine is supple and comfortable to wear, but it is a lint magnet.
Quality is what you would expect from a $100 Russian watch. But I didnโt expect much. Teddy does a great review of this watch on YouTube if you havenโt seen it.
I have 3. Quality is a little questionable - components and finishing, but for the price they are very interesting and unique. I put them in a box after the invasion and they will remain there until the Russian people change their leadership.
I still wear my Kommandirskie as it's a tough mechanical beater.
I did agonise about wearing it but as I bought it pre Ukraine I have no problem with it. Opinions may differ amongst people you meet out and about though.

You got a point there. Not sure where in the world you are located but there's a store called Total Wine and Liquor in the USA and they sell a lot of alcohol from all over the world. They do not sell Russian Vodkas though because of what has been going on.

Other side of the state -- just west of Fort Lauderdale.

Oh nice! Hey, are you doing okay after the flooding?

Yep. My area is on slightly higher ground (such that it is in Florida) and didn't get hit quite so hard.

Same here. Not trying to be political here or anything. Just canโt stand behind the injustice of the whole situation.
I like the 2 I have. I'm a fan of the intentionally designed wobbly crown that freaks so many people out.
I'm not a fan of the non quick set date.
Quirky and surprisingly durable watches. I've had both for a few years now and very reliable.
As many other have stated, they are quirky, durable, cheap, and suprizingly get more wrist time than youโd think. So if that is what you are after they are a great choice. Try to get them used as to not directly support Mr. Putin
