NWA Citizen Promaster Loomy
I had this in my eBay watch list for literally years and never picked it up. I saw it appear on Amazon UK a few weeks ago. I sat and looked at it, put it in my wish list there and left it thinking ‘meh someday I guess.’ It was a much better price than importing from Italy via eBay, but didn’t come on the bracelet (or the cool oxygen tank box) and that put me off initially. We’ll get to the bracelet later. Yesterday, I saw Amazon had just four left, so I grabbed one. Yeah, FoMO kicked in. 😆
I assumed this watch had a non-hacking non-handwinding movement, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it does indeed hack and hand wind as it runs the newer Cal.8204 movement.
As to the included black PU strap, it’s stiff, uncomfortable and the second keeper doesn’t hold down the tip of the strap, but then again I have a 6.3”/16cm wrist, so it was immediately removed and put on a ZULU strap instead. I’m aware the Citizen metal bracelet is really expensive to acquire separately and has a pressed clasp, hollow endlinks and folded links: Nasty! So I ordered a third party bracelet with a milled clasp, solid links, but still with hollow endlinks. 2/3 ain’t bad. 😆
Measures 41.5mm across, with a 47mm lug-to-lug, 12.7mm thick, 20mm lug width. Precise and perfectly aligned 60-click bezel.
Do not mourn the SKX007, you have a superior (movement) alternative available at far, far better prices.
