commented on Rectangular Watches - Will they find a place in your Collection? ·

Currently have a Seiko SUP 880 in my collection which gets decent wear time (imo rectangular watches are more versatile than one might initially think). Torn between getting a Cartier Tank Louis or a JLC Reverso Duoface when I have the money to spend one day. The Reverso appeals to the kid in me who adored the idea of spy watches and having e a "secret" function on the watch. But there's something about the Tank Louis, the design is just so classic and timeless.

I try to keep boxes for all my stuff, even if I didn't buy with the intention to resell. I guess I like knowing that if things ever get tough and I have to sell my watches, I won't get undercut due to no box. My strategy now is keeping boxes in boxes. I like sneakers, so I'll put a bunch of watch boxes (maybe 3-4) in an empty shoebox so the space taken up in my closet is only that of one shoebox.

commented on How useful is a GMT, really? ·

Quite useful for me, I work (from home) on a different timezone to where I live as the company is based overseas. Sometimes when I have to quickly run out for an errand, it's good to be able to monitor the timezone I'm working on (am I gonna be late to a meeting for example). And yes, I could always just do the timezone math in my head, but having the convenience of just being able to glance at my wrist and see it is cool.

My GMT of choice in a Timex Waterbury GMT (I switched out the factory strap for a jubilee-style bracelet), where I set the GMT hand to my work-timezone and tell the time on the rotating bezel.

Model kits -mostly Marvel, DC, Star Wars or Transformers themed. Also comic books, which individually are not very expensive, but when you have to finish the storyline, it gets rather pricey.
