NWA: Seamaster 300m Arctic Bond

This is a watch that kept drawing my eye even though I was focused on other watches. Eventually I saw it in person at an AD (I was there to see some Longines), tried it on on a whim, and was blown away. I thought 42mm would be too big but it fit great. I absolutely love the stunning contrast between the black bezel/strap and the dial. It comes from the color difference and the materials used (whatever they are :). I love the smooth gorgeous polished bevels in the lugs. The finishing of the entire watch is so great in person. And the crown guard. I know the helium escape valve is not for all tastes but I think it works well and is unique in my collection. Maybe most surprising is how the indices, because of their height, appear to float above the dial, which produces an unbelievable effect. I’m smitten! This is my third omega (my grandpas from the 1930s is the watch that started it all for me), and I am continually amazed at the bang for the buck with their wqtches. So many that I love. This watch is also my first modern design (I have mostly modern wqtches where the design harkens back to vintage). I’d probably take omegas great sword hands if I had my druthers but I like the skeleton hands more than I’d expected. Very pleased!

I agree with you. This is one of the SMPs that shine. Wear it well

Looks good! I love the “Great White” on the wrist!

Yeah, I've seen the nickname as "Great White" most often. But it seems that also refers to the white dialed GMT that has a steel bezel. I saw a Hodinkee writer try to nickname it the "Arctic Bond" and went with that b/c I love Bond (hey, who doesn't?). I'm happy with any nickname to be honest!

Awesome. Looks great. Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Perfect combo with the black rubber strap! Nice choice!

I love white dials. They really pop vs blue/black, while still being "classic"
