El Primero - got one!

I've been looking at this El Primero for a long time. Picked one up and am head over heels for it. So much to love, especially the "doric column" case design, gazillion complications, feel of the chrono action....but my favorite part, besides being able to see the movement in all its glory, is probably the sunray blue of the moonphase!

That's so funny. It's rare to see this watch discussed on forums and here we just posted it back to back! What are the odds? 😎

Exactly! I took a second look when I saw your post! Haha… It’s such an amazing piece for the price! I wish it remains like that till I get mine. 🤣

Your "primero El Primero"

Great piece. I had one without the moon phase. Passed it along to my son in law who thinks it’s terrific. Yours looks great.

Congrats! Enjoy that beautiful watch.

Congrats! Such a beautiful watch. It's been on my Chrono24 radar for over a year now. I keep waffling between this and the revival.

I got mine on chrono24 from a dealer in japan. paid $100 to clear customs in the US. I was crossing my fingers that the movement was ok, and so far so good. I am still concerned that it could need a service (which can be very expensive for an el primero) soon due to it being from around the year 2000, as the dealer didn't have a service history available 😬

Something else I discovered is that (I think) Japan doesn't allow watches to be shipped that have endangered croc or alligator species straps on them, which I think were the OEM straps on these models. So my watch couldn't come with its OEM strap (though the dealer had it, they couldn't send it to me). They did send me the OEM buckle though...

Not in the market for a chrono atm - but if I were, this Zenith would be high up on the list! Great piece.

·

Congrats on the fine timepiece.

Gorgeous Chronomaster 👌🏻

The one in black is def on the list of possibilities . . . and I'm not a chrono guy!
