This is never going to happen or work. ADs know the going rate for watches on the market, and they know Rolex is asking them to sell it for less. Rolex cannot forbid them from allocating the limited watches to the larger number of customers. That's their whole job. And if Rolex tells them they can't tell customers spend will up their chances, they won't tell them, but they'll still let it influence their decisions. Otherwise they're literally just handing out free money whenever they sell their most coveted merchandise.
ADs can't let their competitors make more money than them, that's how you lose in business.
I don't envy ADs, they are the middlemen. They don't have much say in the whole game. Watch companies think we're idiots who will buy more of their crap and wait around forever and that constraining supply will convince us to open up our wallets.
I love the watches I wear, the watches I've been gifted, the watches I've seen my forefathers wear. The sentiments are real to me. But I don't love any company, any "horologist", or any watchmaker. If they think I'm going to bring thousands of dollars to them over and over again to buy a piece of jewelry, they're out of their mind. I will gladly spend my money somewhere that doesn't play such games (and there are many many out there), and I'll never spend a cent on a watch company that does. Period.
Anyone who buys a solid gold Submariner is really not thinking about $7k here or there. That's why. These are also commonly available without a wait list because no one buys them
The Jet Star is honestly one of the best watches on the market right now. I also felt the Precisionists didn't get the right amount of love from the watch community. Great watch!
