Seestern..do we all have to hate these?
My goodness I’ve seen a lot of, let’s say, mixed feelings on Seestern. I didn’t even know about these until someone posted a shot on WRUW a few weeks ago. Watched a few vids, read a few reviews, had a few martinis, and before that last olive went down I was the proud owner of 3 different styles.
Why. Well, curiosity mostly, and at this price point most of us can be unregretfully curious. I also clonk the crap out of my watches at work. And I also wear green at work so the green dial was a no-brainer. And there you have it. I will say that I am amazed at the finish on the case, dial, and bracelet. This green one is quite stunning. If you own a Glashutte SEAQ I could understand your disdain for this dial but I won’t lie - I like it. It keeps great time and I don’t have to worry about wrecking it. And it is silky comfortable, more than my Snowflake, and it has a quick adjust. If you hate, and you may, I would implore you to pick one up when they’re $130 ish on sale and see for yourself. I’m having fun with it.

It is a great looking watch for sure. I've told myself not to buy any more AliExpress homage watches, but that one has definitely been tempting me.
Honestly, Seestern is hardly the only AliExpress brand guilty of creating clomages/rip-offs. Even San Martin or Baltany "original" designs are very derivative. As I have several Tandorio "homages" in my own collection, I am hardly in a position to throw stones. Too many windows in my glass house. 🤣

Seestern is in its purest essence a homage brand producing replicas of popular designs with their own brand on the label.
My guess is you could probably get them to produce sterile dials or your own brand if you ordered sufficient quantity.

I let my buddy borrow my Seestern and he gave it a thorough workout. He is a total waterman...he took it surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
When he returned the watch it was identical to when I lent it to him.
That is the best way I can confirm the quality of the build. It survived several weeks of that without a scratch or a ding and is running perfectly.

wow, I will give them another look see, One of the things I like the most about your collection is that it steers clear of the ones "everybody" has, Pelagos , speed master, Rolex, I frankly am NOT a big fan of this aspect of collecting, I try to find ones that are almost as good for a fraction of the cost

I always joke that I am monogamous in my marriage, but polyamorous with my watches. I love them all whether they are a $50 Casio Duro (best dive watch under $75) or a watch that is in the five figures.
So much choice to be had and so many great ideas shared by the members of this community.
It's a great place to learn about brands that are less popular and that produce a high value to cost ratio.
clever I am certainly polyamorous with watches, I have a Casio euro, however I just saw they came out with what looks like a rather nice new one, I also saw a Corgeut on Ali express for 80 which looks identical to the Blancpain 50 fathoms, amazing I am never going to save at this rate,
