watch valuations

Hello. Im new to the group and looking for opinions on these two watches. Wondering if I should take them to get valued. They are both from the early 60's. One is an Omega Seamaster Automatic and the other is a Steel Co 17 Jewels. It says Swiss at the bottom. I have some knowledge about the Omega already by not the other one. There are 2 photos. Just click on the first to see the second one. Thanks.

As a rough guide I would say the steel Co is worth around $100 to $150 & the Seamaster $1,500 to $2,000 assuming it is all original. The Seamaster is pretty collectable & would be worth getting a valuation on.

Valuations on old watches are tricky. You normally only have a willing seller and you need the willing buyer to agree to a price.  Omega is a desirable brand.  The Seamaster in steel is a fairly common piece.  There are too many caveats regarding price: originality, service history, etc.

The Steelco is interesting.  It looks to be 1950's by styling cues.  It was a brand of the Era Watch Company (Edox). It would be more valuable if the dial said "Edox". The dial looks great and the crystal may be original based on the wear on the outer edges. It was a much worn watch as the gold plating has disappeared from much of the case. You may be disappointed in its valuation. Bargain hunters on auction sites would keep that price low.

You can kind of value these yourself by looking at what similar pieces sold for on eBay.

It would give you a ballpark to start in, but as Aurelian said, still lots of variables that will come in to play.
