It's not too hard, once you work out the bending pattern. Basically:
Unbend "normal" sized paperclip
Bend clip into long U-shape using watch face to guide width
Bend rounded end of U-shape behind watch first
Bend free ends behind watch
Tighten up a bit to make it wiggle less
Add some duct tape around the two ends (but not on the watch) to hold them closer to each other and to keep them from poking you
