Cartier Tank Solo small. My first “real” watch.

Time has taken this watch through batteries, straps, and more scratches and scuffs than I can count. But the memories held by this watch meet me in my consciousness when I wear it. A talisman of sorts.

When we got this (last photo is when it was new), our lives were in such a different place. @The_Familys_Time and I had gone to San Francisco for a date weekend before I started a work trip. We were young and didn’t have a lot, but I became enamored with this watch…And sweet husband just couldn’t tell me no. He stretched our budget, let go of a special purchase for himself, tightened the spending belt for the rest of the month, and gifted me with this beautiful Tank.

I’ll treasure it forever.

In a day and age when the term icon is often just marketing hype the Tank is the real deal.

My wife's Cartier is by far her favorite and is pretty much her daily. I remember feeling like we were part of a secret club when we first learned about the "hidden Cartier logo" that is incorporated into different roman numerals depending on the model.

What a lovely red/pink strap. Cartier’s are such classy watches that can go with practically anything. Can our friend @WabiSabiMaster have put it any better? I think not! Thanks for sharing this story with us Gina. Cheers 🥂

I love the Tank. I bought one for my ex wife. I should've asked for it back when we got divorced. 😂
