Found this Tudor watch at a local market today. It’s running and in decent shape. Anyone know anything about this model. I believe it’s from the 1930’s. But I could be wrong. Any feedback appreciated.
What a stunning watch! I only know a bit about modern Tudors sadly. I bet @Aurelian or @Porthole could shed some light?
My knowledge of all things Tudor is very cursory. I have done a little internet digging.
I was suspicious of the handset. However, it appears to check out. Tudor came to Australia in 1932 and that Tudor logo was only used until 1936. So, assuming the movement checks out, that gives us a four year window for that watch. Australia was an important early market for Tudor so there are a lot more vintage Tudor watches there then in many places. Many bore the name of the store that sold them, Angus and Coote in this case.
The movement will tell you what you have. That was not meant to be a luxury watch. From what I can see you found a nice little Tudor.
Thanks for that info. My research came up with the same. It was cased in Melbourne buy Handley and from what I can work out it’s a caliber 59. I’ve attached some photos of movement and case back.

Wow, very cool. Great find. Thanks for sharing
Wish I could help other than saying that’s a beautiful vintage Tudor 🤙
Is there a picture I can't see? 👀

What an interesting find! Don't know if it's valuable, but very collectable and a good piece of history!

The value of a watch ,for me, is always in its story.
I completely agree!
