QQ - Does the rest of the world know about HMT Watches?
In the world of Orient's, Vostok's and other affordable mechanical watches, HMT probably sits at the top for being affordable time pieces.
This is the HMT Janata - A mechanical watch with about 35-40 hours of power reserve which costs about 35$.
35$! - How about that?
Although there is speculation that most HMT watches now are considered to be Frankenwatches, it's hard to beat that price point for a fairly well made machine.
I'm curious to check how accurate these watches are on a timegrapher and see how reliable they are over a period.
Would you buy a HMT if you had the option?

It's a shame they are gone as they had a nice niche for affordable, simple, classic hand-wound watches. They have tempted me for a long time, back when I wanted a vintage watch.
I would certainly buy one for the "quirk factor ". I am certain that the majority of them are "bitsers" but that just afds to the charm for me.
Keep seeing them on ebay, don't look bad for the money. And I never knew what HMT stands for, so thanks for enlightening me,
I'll definitely be buying at least one, at some point.
