Titanium Yachtmaster 42 & Pelagos 39

Here are some pics of the new Yachtmaster 42 in titanium and my Pelagos 39. The finishing of the RLX titanium is a notch or two higher than the Peli which I already thought was fantastic (no overly sharp bits as some reviews say). Better on the Tudor is the adjustable T-fit clasp vs easylink on the Rolex as well as 200m wr over the surface watersports 100m professional yachting watch. But, The Rolex is finished so much better and with that, is something I would love to have. Simple as that.

I have my SA on the lookout. AD hasn't received any yet so i have not yet gotten it on the wrist.

Had they released this in the same size as the Pelagos I'd probably like it quite a bit.

The one Issue I have is that this will scratch like a champion but have a weirdly pristine bezel at the same time... not sure I dig that.

I have to say, that titanium YM looks great!

The Yatchmaster 42 isn’t on my “wish list” but would love to see one in the metal. I find it very strange that some brands (Rolex) release a watch and then it doesn’t appear in stores for 8months, not even as a “display model”. Spoke with 2 ads and both said they haven’t received any, I’m a long standing customer of both ADs and I wasn’t inquiring to actually buy the watch so they have no reason to lie to me . I understand Rolex are the masters at creating hype but I do find this practice ridiculous.

Kudos seeing the Yachtmaster in the flesh! I was chatting with my AD yesterday and he reiterated that none of their stores in the UK had received a single watch. It's probably the only Rolex I'm after now.

I would love to have either one. Both are great examples of luxury watches in their own right.

The roll out was slow for all 2023 novelties. The AD over here was also wondering why they arrived so many moons after their unveiling.

Think you're worrying too much. It would be like any Pelagos. I've had a Peli FXD which has a ceramic like bezel since end last year and only had a slight ding on the side. Not visible at all .. and imagine the case wear of any beaten up steel watch with a pristine dial protected by the crystal and a ceramic bezel ala Submariner. Same concept with a shiny bezel.

Get the Rolex. You won't regret it. Even is more expensive but the quality is "Off the charts". I own a 2005 Rolex Yachtmaster ref. 16622 that I bought brand new and still "a work horse". Get the Yachtmaster!

Maybe I will, as another milestone watch as it will cost a bomb. Right now I have to 'make do' with the 14060m and the 124060 that keeps my Peli 39 and my FXD company.
