I was considering a Tudor GMT but i am happy I ended up with a GS.

Because it is actually a Rolex GMT 6542 without the date n cyclops. Even gilt on dial and bezel follows this 1950s Rolex GMT master. So darn close actually.
Still ugly The colors are so library/study looking and the gold lettering is so tacky. I am sure they will sell in the Gypsy community

You're definitely not the target market. This is actually a rolex ref 6542 reborn without the date n cyclops magnifier. Even the gilt came from the 1950s Rolex. I know many who are very interested in this already. I prefer the BB monochrome.

Yes, but it was gilt on the bezel. Still modern production values with that 50s vibe. Having seen a 6542 at a shop in Singapore recently, the aluminium bezel is a better modern choice. Its the overall look that Tudor wants I think. Not a 1:1 repro.

I know Tudor wasn't going for a repro, but I think the lumed bezel is an overlooked & underrated feature of the original 6542.

Brave man. I wholeheartedly agree. We easily surrender our objectivity to the mass hysteria…although not familiar with Gypsy community.

During the covid era that happened. These days not so much. But new Tudors trickle into ADs. So first come first serve if the regulars don't place bookings for them right away. I did that when the Pelagos 39 was launched and was first or second at the AD. Then no P39 came into the store for about two months. TheP39 still fly out of the store pretty fast over here in Kuala Lumpur.

I didn’t like the gilt much a week or so ago when this was announced, but it’s grown on me. I’m looking forward to seeing one in person eventually!
