Satoriale Rubber strap review on Tudor BB Pro and Ranger

A post on here recently sparked a lot of interest of a Tudor Black Bay Pro featuring a rubber strap that wasn’t the hyper expensive Rubber B strap and in the comments Satoriale Straps mentioned they had a rubber strap that would fit the BB Pro.

I ordered one and wanted to see what it was like.

Image

You get the strap plus a spring bar tool and spring bars which is a nice touch.

The strap itself feels sturdy… it’s not floppy or feels like the buckle will tear through the holes like a cheap silicone strap, however the rubber is a little stiff in comparison to my BR RubberB strap but that might loosen up with wear.

The black bay pro is a little chunkier of a watch so something that fits a Rolex Explorer and Submariner is questionable as to if it will fit well.

Image

As thought it isn’t thick enough to fit like an integrated fit

Image

When you fasten the buckle the strap pulls away from the case… so it’s almost like it fits the watch when it’s flat rather than conforms to the shape of the case when it on.

Image

I really like the buckle on the strap though it’s chunky and brushed so goes well with the tool watch asthetic.

But as it’s not thick enough for the Black Bay Pro I thought I’d try it on my Ranger too as that’s a much thinner case.

Image

Again this fits nicely when it’s flat but it also doesn’t look thick enough for the case size

Image

But the strap is quite thick, looking at where the spring bars are, it looks like if they were a little lower in the strap this would fit the Ranger much better.

Image

It does suit the Ranger pretty well, however when it’s on you do get issue with the strap coming away from the case at the top which also could be resolved with a lower spring bar slot (maybe).

For 37CHF (about $40) + Shipping from Canada it was worth trying.

It’s not perfect but it is a lot cheaper than the $300 Rubber B strap. I might try this with some of my other watches with a 20mm strap width to see if there’s a better fit as it feels good to wear.

But for now it’s not so bad on the Ranger but I probably won’t use it on the Black Bay pro.

If anything this has shown me how good both these watches look with an integrated rubber strap so definitely something I will consider spending more money on in the future.

  • Rubber is substantial and looks good
  • Buckle is great
  • Comfortable and feels good
  • It’s cheaper than a fully custom strap
  • Comes with spring bars and a tool
  • The fit isn’t perfect on the watch case
  • The rubber needs to be worn in
  • Not on the black bay pro

Side note… probably should have done this as a post rather than a review!

It’s a cool look. I’ve long considered buying an Everest strap for my Ranger. Maybe one day. Honestly every time I take it off the bracelet I just put it right back on after a few minutes.

I go through phases between my bracelet, MN and nato straps every few months… now I’m thinking how I can work the rubber strap into the rotation

Thanks to the one guy who mentioned it but since then I can't unsee nor get over the fact that Tudor managed to put the 8 in the 18 upside down. 😂

Thanks to the OP for the close-up

I even lit the 8 in the photo just for that… but seriously everytime I look at the time with the pro now all I see is the 18 😂

Thanks for the review. I agree with you. After seeing the pictures of this strap, it is definitely not the right fit for the BB Pro.

Great looking strap, but unfortunately it also helps emphasize how slab sided tuna can shape Tudor BB GMT case is

For that particular rubber strap from Satoriale, are thy using the FKM type ? For me, FKM type rubber would be the most comfortable one for my wrist !

I believe it’s TPU which is why it feels a little more ridgid than other straps I have… it’s comfortable though

It’s kind of a shame as I can’t bring myself to spend $300 on the Rubber B one

·

Looks damn cool on the ranger. The BB pro i would wear with a nato it's thicc

·

Yes, the rubberB is more expensive but it looks and fits alot better..If one is spending a few grand for a watch a couple more dollars for the right strap is money well spent..JMO Enjoy the hobby

That’s the only problem with the nato as it’s makes it even thicker unless you’re using a thinner single pass one

I like the rubber B one but not the yellow. I would buy that on my Ranger or my FXD as I wear them a lot more… but $300 is a lot on a watch I only wear 1-2 times a month or when I’m travelling… it’s also more than the official hybrid strap from Tudor
