Finally got a Tudor FXD
Randomly passing by an AD on a trip back to London and saw this in the window. I figured it wasn’t actually for sale as I’d never seen one in the wild.
For context been on a list with my local AD here in Switzerland for over a year (and still haven’t heard anything yet).
But… I’ve been wearing this more than anything else in my collection over the past couple of months as it’s so comfortable (even more so on the Erika’s original MN strap).
I get asked a lot of questions about it when wear it because of the weird bezel and matte blue colour. It seems to confuse pelagos owners the most though because it’s oddly familiar but also not the same.
Land, sea and air… I love military and tool watches with high legibility and have a thing for lume

My Tudor SA texted me a few weeks ago alerting me to one that was available for purchase but I said that I could visit the boutique in a few days, she did not offer me the option of finalizing a purchase by voice call, politely said that it was being offered to the next customer on her list. I actually waited longer for a Ranger on the steel bracelet than the Pelagos FXD, seem to recall that it has been roughly 3-4 months. She assured me that she would reach out to me again, I reminded her that I am an enthusiast with limited finances for my hobby, there will be times when my watch budget will have already been exhausted at a moment of her texts.

So weirdly I managed to get a ranger one the steel bracelet straight away after it’s release. I was told it was a 1-2 year wait in Switzerland but I could try it on… again same thing I was in London for the weekend and a high street AD had them in stock so I got one… the best bit is that this was when the exchange rate was so good even after the import duty it cost me a lot less than if I’d waited for it here

Seems like Switzerland is the place to make watches, not buy watches!

It’s a Trident grey as it’s the closest match to the original. The mirage looks amazing and if I had other watches with a 22mm strap size I would have gone with that instead
