A love story for the watch that i love. Any stories?

About 9 yrs ago, I wanted to have a watch for my 22nd birthday just a good timepiece for meetings with clients, flaunt, look good, etc. Then I got to this disease called "watch collecting" when i first had my open-heart seiko. I was going crazy about how this thing worked, how these small parts created a mechanism to track the time and how a machine can be elegant. Curiosity started me in this rabbit hole. As a watch collector you always have an Itch to buy a new piece. A piece that keeps on growing until you're satisfied and when you get the piece you regret it then sell it at a loss or sometimes give it away to someone who really cares for the watch, a bad habbit that needs to be avoided. As time passes collecting affordable watches, I knew I wanted to have a JLC reverso. I knew that I wanted something different, classy, out of the ordinary but familiar at the same time but again this was just a fantasy. I started changing my collecting principles that everytime I buy a watch, I only buy it with a milestone or memory attached to it. Everytime i got tempted in buying i would check my accounts and started working and continue saving for a few years. At 28yrs old things were already stable i can buy anything but not everything, I had a budget already. I was determined that on my 30th birthday It was time for me to pull the trigger on a reverso but things got stale, I didnt like the normal white and black reverso duoface anymore, it was "meh" for my taste so I hunted and researched unique reversos. Talked to a few ADs and I scrounged the internet like a goblin. Then i saw this salmon dialed reverso with art deco display case at the back, I fell inlove, but again it was too expensive so I gave up dreamt again. 3 months before my 30th birthday, I was just scouting for a watch and i saw this watch on chrono24 and although it was cheaper than the salmon dial art deco watch it was perfect because it has a GMT function and it's made from white gold and rose gold so technically i was buying 2 for 1 watch. I decided to buy it but unlike any other purchases I didnt regret buying this one. When it arrived, I was inlove with the salmon/rose gold dial with an 18k white gold case, applied rose gold Arabic numerals at the quarter hours, white gold faceted dart-shaped hour indices, a rectangular diamond guilloche center framed by a black minute/hour scale, and there is a rectangular small constant running small seconds subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock with black Arabic numerals, markers, and a white gold indicator hand. It was to die for! Plus the cherry on top that it was number 30 out of 250 pcs made just in time for my 30th birthday. Sorry for the long story. Share your stories with me!

Interesting that sometimes you work hard for something but then another comes along and steals the spot. Great watch, I also genuinely love the reverso.

One of the best looking JLCs 👌

Wow that is one of the most stunning Reversos I‘ve seen so far, maybe the best looking even. It really is like 2 watches in 1. I love how the GMT dial is rotated to have a night and day side. Congrats on the purchase, I hope you enjoy it for many years! 👌🏼

Questions: what’s the size and what’s the reference ? I gotta put this on my wishlist 😂 Edit: found it already

You found a treasure for certain. a lot of folks may not realize the hunt is part of the experience.

An excellent choice! I wish mine had more of an interesting story beyond "I like it and got a good deal on it" 😂

Almost all of my other watches have sentimental stories behind them, but sadly the Reverso does not - it's just a damn fine piece! You've inspired me to wear mine today with these excellent pics 🍻

Absolute stunner, I’m sure given the story you’ll wear it with pride.

My Reverso came to me as a guardian piece. I was young in age and my career, I saved and purchased it for my Son’s birth. I love the watch and him even more. It will be gifted to him at some point and then I’ll need a Reverso of my own. I’ve been tempted a few times to get the replacement in advance telling myself it will be less $, but I’m not sure if I wait or keep on putting memories on this Reverso and then hand it off to him engraved.

Currently on a custom ordered navy Fagliano, this was my setup last Spring.
