My first attempt a custom watch a few years ago.

I've always wanted to design my own watches, this was my first attempt, a sterling silver minimalist watch inspired by WW1 trench watches.

It's nowhere near perfect! Full of faults and issues but I'm happy that i made it, i've attempted to make watches since but never got to finishing anything, my idea now is to go down the modding route and create some custom parts to use. hopefully that will lead into something more!

The watch used a Miyota 8215 movement if i remember rightly.

Commendable effort - I think it looks brilliant, and I appreciate the modern minimal / antique case fusion. The vintage-style crown is inspired. I would buy that if that was available - the Miyota movement is a noisy one but I think I could live with it. If you had a hand-wound mechanical you would nail the overall feel of old vs new, so I’d just say take my money.

Anyway - I’ll stop now. Nice job.

This is awesome… Keep going!

Looks like an insane amount of work to make but the result is so pretty.

Check out the parts on Alliexpress , Most are NH35 intended parts but they have a huge assortment of movements , cases and hands for most everything.

Please please please don’t see that as a criticism of your work, and my point is only if this was a modern hand winder you capture the trench watch experience in a modern sleek frame and someone like me will throw money at you should you make more. I have no watch construction / build experience, but I am a vintage watch guy who spends a lot on getting older watches up to speed to wear, and this would be right up my alley.

I think I have that same movement in a Timex Marlin reissue, and it is a noisy rotor. As I said, it’s not a deal breaker, just a factor of the movement - it does the job quite nicely.

Amazing job, keep it going and please, keep sharing it!

Wow! That's freaking AMAZING. Silver is so beautiful. You are basically a watch GOD.

Just casting a case that the crystal fits into at home is quite impressive! You're in the extreme minority of  "modding" enthusiasts with that! Bravo!

That's lovely.  Nice Job!
