Years ago, when I got back into watches, I dug out my old collection. Unfortunately, a number of my watch bands had dry rotted. This included my CA-53.
I had used this nylon, two-piece strap from GadgetWraps to replace it, since they were cheap. Note, this sort of strap replacement with a nylon strap on a CA-53 is a massive pain. As I recall, this nylon strap took me about half an hour to do, because the nylon was a tight placement and made the spring bars hard to align.
This go around I got a resin strap replacement and a 20mm metal strap. The resin strap I knew would fit, so I opted to see how the metal strap would work out.
It fit well and only required a little finesse to seat the spring bars in place.

the back case gasket will be bad too. Neoprene is just a softer plastic that dies at 6 years old.

Thanks. I'm wanting to say I replaced the gasket last time I changed the battery, but I'll definitely look at trying to replace most of my gaskets in the near future.
