PSA about bracelets

I owned the SPB143 a few years ago with the original bracelet and a nato strap. I ended up selling it because the bracelet was clunky/heavy and I didn’t like the nato. I made the mistake of selling it.

Recently reacquired with the Uncle z199 bracelet and it is a game changer! I’ve always enjoyed Uncle products and I should’ve tried it before selling the first time.

Lesson learned: before you sell the watch, try a different bracelet.

Big facts. Thank you for spreading the experience. I’m sure this has happen to alot of people regardless if they ended up selling it or not. A strap or bracelet change can make a huge difference and be a game changer on how you connect with the watch!

I had the same experience with my SPB149. I was about to sell it and wore it around for a few days to say goodbye. Kind of fell in love again with the case, dial and bezel but the OEM bracelet was too chunky.

Ordered the z199 from Uncle and the SPB became a keeper again. I was planning on selling it to fund something else, but I'm happy to keep it. The next watch was going to be considerably more expensive too, so even though the bracelet was $100+ I wound up saving a bunch of cash.

Thanks! I’m sure it’s obvious to others but wanted to share with those that haven’t figured it out yet.

I love a happy ending! It's honestly amazing that you found your way back to the watch AND a new bracelet that solved the problems of the old one.

I bought a bellmatic in maybe 2014 and hated the folded link bracelet it came on. Stuffed it in a drawer for about 7 years before I discovered there was another bracelet available when the watch was released in 1969ish. It took me at least 2 years of searching to find one, but oh man was it worth it. The bellmatic has gone from unwearable to being the jewel of my collection, and my most comfortable bracelet watch by far.

And Grand Seiko please. At least a clasp with micro adjust!
